How creator codes, links and attribution work
What each creator gets, how a sale is matched to them, and which count pays your community members.
What each creator gets
A creator in your community (or hired on a campaign with a share of sales) earns from the ads you build from their videos. They don't get a discount code or a link of their own: a sale is credited to a creator when it comes through an ad made with their video.
How a sale is credited
Your community page has an Attribution setting under *What members earn*. It decides which sales a member's share is paid on.
- Platform attribution The default. A member's share is paid on the sales Meta reports for the ads you build from their video, the same numbers as your Ads Manager.
- Hype attribution Tracked by Hype, on your store. Hype's web pixel remembers a click on one of those ads for 7 days, and a sale goes to the ad clicked last. Usually a lower count than the ad platform shows.
Refunds come off before anyone is paid. Pay per lead always uses the leads Meta reports.
Analytics has the same switch, so you can compare the two counts before you choose.
